Our Worship

Worship3

Diversity is probably the best word to describe the worship at The Church At Covington. Praise teams, choirs, bands, seasonal musicals, contemporary, black gospel, praise and worship and maybe even a quartet from time to time-that's what you will experience in a worship service at TCAC.  But first and foremost-worship is not about us but about Him.  Worship is an expression of our love to Jesus Christ and it first begins in our daily walk with Him. The Word tells us that we are to not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together in worship. There is power in corporate worship.  The demonstration of the Spirit of God in our service is not a planned or orchestrated activity. We welcome His manifestation. We also believe in following the leading of the Holy Spirit in all aspects of our services and lives. Our worship is based on the following Biblical principles:

  • Acts 4:24 - "they lifted up their voice to God with one accord..." At TCAC, we pray together out loud.
  • Psalms 134:2 - "Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and bless the Lord." therefore, we lift our hands in praise.
  • Psalms 98:4 - "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise." Thus, we sing with all of our hearts.
  • II Samuel 6:5 - "...and all the house of Israel played before the Lord on all manner of instruments." Skillfully, we play musical instruments.
  • Psalm 47:1 - "...O clap your hands all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph." Gladly, we clap and shout unto the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Psalm 150:4 - "...Praise Him with the timbrel and dance; praise Him with stringed instruments and organs." Joyfully, we dance in the Spirit.
  • Psalm 22:22 - "I will declare Thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise Thee." therefore, we testify publicly.
  • James 5:14 - "Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord." With faith, we anoint with oil and pray for the healing of the sick
